The northern municipalities of Iloilo, officially known as the 5th congressional
district of Iloilo, are made up of the towns of Ajuy, Balasan, Barotac Viejo, Batad, Carles, Concepcion, Estancia, Lemery, San Dionisio, San Rafael, and Sara. The northern part of the province, which is sought after for its miles of stunning coastline, provides the best opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Its island-hopping excursions take place peacefully in a sea whose waters range from lightest aquamarine and turquoise to darkest sapphire and lapis lazuli, and are traversed by an uninterrupted stretch of white sand.
